Montreal (September 22, 2017) – Les Canadiennes de Montréal announced today that 27 players are scheduled to attend the team’s annual selection camp, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Michel Normandin arena at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard.

Nine of the ten players selected in the 2017 CWHL Draft will be on hand, excluding first-round pick Mélodie Daoust, who is in Calgary with Team Canada competing for a spot on the national team roster heading into the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Several new skaters will hit the ice this weekend, including two new off-season acquisitions such as Montreal-native Kayla Tutino (forward) and Japanese defense Nachi Fujimoto, both from the Boston Blades. Goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer, who was acquired from the Calgary Inferno, will be returning to Calgary to dress for a few exhibition games with Team Canada. She is expected to return to Montreal on Tuesday.

CWHL MVP and forward Ann-Sophie Bettez, defense Cathy Chartrand, and last year’s stand-out on the blueline, Cassandra Poudrier, are among numerous returnees. The full selection camp roster is attached. Media are invited to attend both days and are asked to please submit interview requests in advance, if possible.
