Toronto, ONT (Mar. 23, 2019) –– Les Canadiennes de Montréal and the Calgary Inferno will square off in the Clarkson Cup Final this Sunday, March 24, at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto at 12pm (EST) for a winner-takes-all game that promises excitement and drama.
This season, the Inferno edged Montreal with four wins in six games, but Les Canadiennes emerged victorious in their last season matchup. This will be Montreal’s eighth appearance in the final, and the team will look to bring home their fifth Clarkson Cup, a league record. This will be the third meeting of the two teams in the championship game in the past four years.
The game will be broadcast on Sportsnet, TVA Sports and the NHL Network.
On Friday, Marie-Philip Poulin, the recipient of the Angela James Bowl bestowed on the player with the most points at the end of the regular season, was also the winner of the CWHL MVP Award and the Jayna Hefford Trophy, voted by the league’s players. Erin Ambrose was named CWHL Defenceman of the Year after a stellar season in which she dominated defensively and offensively, recording the most points among all defence in the regular season.
Several members of Les Canadiennes took part in various activities as part of the CWHL’s Community Day, including panels on women’s hockey and a multi-sport clinic with youth before their final team practice of the season.
