Les Canadiennes announce new goalie coach

Montreal, QC (February 2, 2018) –– Les Canadiennes de Montréal announced today the arrival of new interim goaltending coach Nicolas Champagne to the organization.

Since 2014, Champagne has worked as a goaltending coach for the Université de Montréal Carabins. He also occupies the same position with the Cegep St-Laurent Patriotes men’s hockey team (2017-2018). He serves as a consultant for Hockey Canada’s women’s program (2015-2018).

Champagne’s coaching career began in 1997, where he worked with Hockey Laval at the pee wee AA, bantam AA, Espoir and Junior AAA levels.  He moved on to Midget AAA as the goaltending coach for the Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix from 2011 to 2015. Champagne occupied the same position with the Collège St-Sacrement juvénile division 1 (2012-2016). He also worked as the goaltending coach and assistant coach for the Grenadiers de Châteauguay (2015-2017). He spent one season in the QMJHL with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan (2013-2014).

Champagne also spent one season as a goaltending coach for Quebec U-17 tournament in Cape Breton (2013-2014).
