Montreal (October 11, 2017) – Les Canadiennes de Montréal, proud partners of the Montreal Canadiens, are eager to start the 2017-2018 CWHL season as the defending Clarkson Cup champions.

Les Canadiennes will be looking to continue their dominance in the CWHL when they welcome the Boston Blades for their opening weekend on October 14, 5:30 p.m. at Complexe Sportif Bell in Brossard and on October 15, 1:30 p.m. at Michel Normandin arena at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard.

It will be the first time Montreal forward Kayla Tutino and Japanese defense Nachi Fujimoto will be facing their old team after being traded this summer to Montreal. Many familiar faces will don the red, white and blue, including stand-out forward Ann-Sophie Bettez, and second year defense Cassandra Poudrier. Goaltending sensation Emerance Maschmeyer will make her debut between the pipes with Les Canadiennes.

With the league’s highest attendance record, Les Canadiennes are counting on their fans to help bring women’s hockey to the next level. Fans who purchase season tickets will have access to 13 home games, a coupon for a discount on merchandise and two coupons to bring a friend when accompanied by a season ticket holder.

Moreover, fans can look forward to the first “Skate with Les Canadiennes” after Sunday’s game at Michel Normandin Arena.

Season tickets are on sale for $162.50 – a $32.50 discount over the single game price of $15 – and can be purchased by visiting the CWHL website (cwhl.ca) or http://bit.ly/2kBEq8D.

The CWHL will be entering its eleventh year as two Chinese teams – the Kunlun Red Star and the Vanke Rays – will be making their debut in the league. From Feb. 10 to 23, the CWHL will be taking a break due to the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games that will feature several Les Canadiennes players, including Marie-Philip Poulin, Lauriane Rougeau and newest recruit Mélodie Daoust.
